Retreats

“More importantly, at the end of the day, you still do sitting as much as you can. Don't try to make the mind right, don't try to choose an object, but learn to observe a little bit more - what the mind actually is. Irrespective what it is doing, just learn a little bit more.”

Silent Retreat

A privilege for inner-enquiry and realization in a need-to-speak-only environment

Facilitators: Chan Lai Fun & Hor Tuck Loon

Pre-requisite: Open to anyone who has completed the Mindfulness—A Starting Point / WISE foundation workshop.

Venue: Physical venue to be advised and/or via Zoom

Silence is the most powerful scream. It is our capacity to uncover what we never know about ourselves. This retreat gives us the opportunity to unleash the suppressed voice within. Each and everyone of us has that potential to unlock the truth within but does not know how to do it. The retreat enables you to do that as the long periods of silence coupled with the right information reveal what is hidden from us. Truth and freedom are our birthrights but we have to find them out by ourselves. Even the greatest teacher like the Buddha cannot do it for us.

The longer period in the retreat exposes our most cherished ideas and beliefs. When questioned, we begin to break through the false illusion that blinds us so that the light of awakening can penetrate and shine light on what is not seen. We begin to have glimpses of realization when the thick wall of resistance is thinned down and what we have thought is coming from outside, is actually an error. The projection and power given outside falters and we regain the power within when realizational truths blossom.

But do get forewarned because it is not a journey for weak hearts. It requires total commitment, honesty and sincerity to embark on this exploration. Rest assured that the teachers are always available to guide you through.  All it takes on your part are basically right attitude and keeping an open mind to follow the sharing in this discovery journey. It’s time to wake up as Grace is calling you to be a part of our fellowship.
