Mindfulness A Starting Point

Exploring mind-body through Right Views and Skilful Attitude

Objective

Mindfulness (Awareness) Meditation is a journey of discovery about the relationship between mind and happenings through Right Information leading to Right View and Right Attitude. We begin to discover what we never knew has been happening until we embark on this journey. Does suffering really exist or are we seeing things wrongly? For those who wish to train their minds to live a stress-free life, this is also an insightful course to embark on. Being a non-sectarian course, it is accessible and available to all regardless of any belief one may have.

Benefits
Throughout the five sessions or so offered, participants will discover the mystery that unfolds. All it takes is the willingness to listen and have an open mind. The shift happens when what we never knew was there suddenly opens up. It is just like looking at a 3D picture when the `hidden’ pictures pop out once the perspective is right. The picture becomes alive when one gets the right information on how to look at it. Things then begin to make sense.

This course has been made possible by sponsors and is freely offered to anyone who is interested and willing to explore to discover this mystery. Tuck Loon and Lai Fun, a matching pair of teachers who offer the teaching from different angles, will take you through this wondrous journey of exploration.

Just notice the unpleasant state is the defilement called aversion - nature taking place.
— Hor Tuck Loon
  • Excellent and effective method of sharing. I can understand better with all the practical experience and examples given.

    - Lean Lee Koay (Investor Relations)

  • Both the facilitators share many real life examples, which makes it easier for me to relate the meaning of an otherwise an intangible topic relating to the mind. All that has been shared, I find it insightful.

    - Sze Yan (HR Manager)

  • Excellent course. Mind is becoming much more balanced and neutral compared with before. And the mind gets less disturbed and reactive to the external situation stimulation.

  • Before I knew WISE Teachers, I had other Dhamma teachers. They gave the same teaching from Buddha: the four noble Truth, three seals of suffering, impermanence, non-self, the five aggregates, Samadhi, Vipassana, Satipatthna. From this knowledge I practiced. However, until teacher Tuck Loon and Lai Fun elaborate the teaching in details by their own long life practice and their own realization, I started penetrating the real Dhamma. Understand the Buddha’s teaching more profoundly. They bring me to the right track, not just in words but also in practicing. Reflecting on myself, now I understand why many Buddhist students, even monastics, still suffer and cannot eliminate the "I". I very much wish this profound teaching spread much further for the benefits of human beings, rolling the Dhamma wheel. With my appreciation, gratitude for what I have received from this profound teaching, from the tireless, devoted, generous, perfect teachers, I prostrate to both teachers with deep respect and faith.

  • The true doorway toward the transforming of life. Deep thanks to teacher Tuck Loon and Lai Fun for spreading the understanding selflessly year by year.

    - Lam Wai Hong (Chinese Medicine Practitioner)

  • The journey is very helpful in noticing thoughts. I notice more when thoughts appear. With that learning, when negative thoughts appear, I can step back and remember to notice rather than follow. It’s very helpful because with those kinds of thoughts like `what kind of person are you’, `how bad you can be’. Really appreciate the teachers, the Wise team and the conditions that enable me to join and learn.
