PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION NOTICE

This Personal Data Protection Notice (“Notice”) describes how we collect, use and process your personal data. 

Collection of Personal Data
Personal data means information provided by you which is capable of identifying you, directly or indirectly, and include but are not limited to your name, NRIC or passport number, age, gender, nationality, address, contact details (such as telephone numbers and email addresses), profession, company name, job title, income, employment details, insurances, blood type, financial status, marital status and family members’ details, your photographs or images captured by way of video surveillance installed in our premises.

Personal data includes sensitive personal data such as physical or mental health or condition, political opinions, religious beliefs or other beliefs of a similar nature, commission of offences or other types of sensitive personal data as the relevant Minister may prescribe. Personal data also includes expression of opinion.

Your personal data is collected from information provided by you through various means including but not limited to application forms, questionnaire, survey and/or feedback forms, on-line application and website. Your personal data may also be collected from a variety of sources including but not limited to any events, campaigns, trips or activities organized or sponsored by WISE whether by itself, together with or in collaboration with others.

By submitting your own or another individual’s personal data, you confirm that you and such other individual agree to our collection, use and disclosure of personal data in accordance with this Notice. Please do not send us any personal data if you do not want it to be used in this way. Unless required by law or by any relevant authority, the provision of your personal data is voluntary. However, without the personal data, WISE may not be able to fulfil or comply with your request or application or include you in the projects or activities organized or sponsored by WISE or to provide you with any assistance.

What we use your personal data for
We only use your information for one or more of the following purposes:

  • registering you for participation in our courses, talks, activities and/or retreats;
  • processing your requests, enquiries or applications;
  • communicating with, notifying or updating you on the activities of WISE;
  • providing you with publications and communications which we think you will find valuable,
  • inviting you to events we think you will be interested in;
  • providing and improving our services to you and our other participants;
  • managing our relationship with you and our other participants;
  • fulfilling our legal obligations, protect our legal interests and rights;
  • compliance with any obligations under the law; and
  • for any other relevant purposes directly related to the activities or operation of WISE.

We do not sell or otherwise make personal information commercially available to any third party, except as described in this Notice or with your prior permission.

Your rights
You can request to see the personal data we hold about you and, if the personal data is inaccurate, you can request that we update it. You may do so by sending us an email at info@wise.foundation. Please allow us reasonable time to respond and effect any change. You may update us on any changes to your personal data in the same manner as described above.

Opt-out
If you do not want us to use your personal data to provide you with publications and information about our activities, courses, talks and retreats or if you do not wish to receive newsletters or updates from us or would like us to cease processing your personal data in a specified manner please send us an email at info@wise.foundation or click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our e-mails. Please include your full name, address, identification number, telephone numbers and email address in your written request which may be used to identify you. By not informing us or unsubscribing, we will assume we have your implied consent to use your personal data as described above.

Amendments to Privacy Notice
This Notice may be modified, updated or amended by WISE from time to time. The current version will be posted on our website. This Notice was last updated on 11  July 2017.
