What Others Say

“Grounded”

It dawned upon me as I continued the path in faith that benefit is not something to be obtained in the future; rather it is something that is already given to me, in every single moment, when each of these moments are known correctly. Correctly as in understanding that all happenings are not intentionally happening to me, or even for me, but rather, they are events that need to happen, no more and no less than that sun that needs to rise in the east and sets in the west. Essentially, I am already free, when I understand what is. One word that sums up how I have benefitted from this journey is GROUNDED.

“CLARITY” sums it up

If only one word is needed to express how I feel about this journey, it’s CLARITY. It sums up everything. From seeking, I am now finding what is missing. From delusion, the fog is slowly clearing up. Having said that, it doesn’t mean that I have reached anywhere. But, the way is becoming so much clearer as more understanding unfolds. For that, I can’t express my gratitude enough to the two teachers for their tireless sharing which has cleared layer upon layer of my wrong view.

“I know nothing”

I’ve learned from this course that wisdom is not a thing that I can ask for, forget about the idea of enlightenment, it is not a place to go someday. What's important is to look within, the Mind - that made me who I think I am. Only when I begin to realize the nature of the Mind, the eyes of Wisdom will open by itself. It works for me as I realized I have been wander for many years, no wisdom arise so to speak, once I learnt this, that is an urgency of it, no U-turn, there is a need to cultivate the mind now, keep on practicing, to discover what has yet to discover.

Mindfulness A Starting Point

“As the name says "Mindfulness A Starting Point" - it points to you the start of a journey, which entails frustration and confusion, but follows along (if done correctly) are faith, effort, mindfulness, stability and understanding. No matter how convincing you may hear about the journey, it can never be compared from own your direct experience.”

Stephanie Chua, Teacher

“Yes, I have learnt a lot and strangely, the course seems different when compared with other MSPs. Indeed, the information from the teachers is so crucial to straighten my wrong views. The information was never old and each time the teachers shared, it was like something new to me. It was like, “Why didn’t I hear this before?" Hence the course is really worth joining.”

Nguyen Thi Ha, Blog Writer

“I have learnt new information about awareness and mindfulness which helps a lot in dealing with daily health issues and anxiety. I am able to see things from a different perspective and also know myself better. It’s so different from the usual meditation techniques taught by other people”

Chin Oy Mei

“I realize now that for meditation, being aware of the mind is more important than focusing on the object. I feel more assured in my practice when I trust awareness instead of believing in the mind with its habitual self-constructing ideas. This course is benefical for anyone regardless of their religion because it is about understanding our own mind.“

Awakening Inner Wisdom

“Tuck Loon so wholeheartedly and patiently answers all our questions. No question is too “simple” or “silly” for Tuck Loon to respond. He creates a trusting space for students to really voice their queries and learn in the process.”

Retreats

“Teacher Tuck Loon and Lai Fun have changed my life by sharing their realizations. There's purpose and value in day to day life. And the programmes by WISE are varied and interesting. Indeed so blessed to be a part of this.”

Nancy Cheah, Public Health Inspector

“After two months of attending WISE zoom retreats, my understanding and view of meditation has changed tremendously. Mind-boggling in the beginning but gaining confidence as more interesting discoveries lie ahead. It has also given me more understanding and direction in life and attachment to people, things and happenings around me seem to be losing its grip a bit. With these as starting point I am confident more interesting discoveries lie ahead in this journey.”

Lim Lay Chiew, Retiree (previously Senior Manager)

“For every participant who has walked on this Journey and tasted every drop of its sweet nectar, the immediate benefits one gains is when one starts to radiate joy and beauty from within and out. One automatically becomes an ambassador of WISE. This in turn becomes an inspiration to others who would want to have a share of that joy too.

Alicia Goh, Retiree

“Very clear sharing from teacher, especially the interactive meditation. Interesting to explore and discover.”

Compassionate Communications

“To know that there is such a wonderful option to communicate with empathy and understanding. It's indeed important to look after one's needs and other's needs are to be taken care of to soften the situation and to get through the message across with a loving and compassionate way.”

— Andrine Chan, MY

“The Compassionate Communication model lays out that the clearer we know the intention and needs, the clearer the "communication" can be, so that connection and right speech can take place. This has also provided a chance to learn feelings more details and so be able to be more sensitive and connect or to express feelings better.”

— Sharon Pang, Senior Planner

“Thanks to NVC, I now can recognize that the meanings I put in everything are the cause of my sufferings. Henceforth, I am able to authentically choose to connect with my close ones, friends or even strangers, in a more meaningful and harmonious way.”
