A New Year Resolution for Life
Sometimes in life, the unexpected arrives quietly and painfully—being accused or blamed for something we did not truly do. Many of us know this experience. The pain that follows is hard to put into words. There is a sudden exposure, a sense of vulnerability, accompanied by shame or guilt—not because we are at fault, but because of how we fear others now see us. It is this fear of perception that stirs the urge to defend ourselves, to explain, or to strike back.
One Morning, One Mind, One Lesson
This morning was one of those moments. Nothing extraordinary happened—but something quietly clicked. A small but meaningful insight arose when I became aware of a relentless stream of thoughts running in my mind after I awoke and was still lying in bed. It was about work the day before, as well as other happenings.
Shortcuts in Life
In today’s current fast-paced way of living, we often find we are short of time or even already too late buried under the mountain of items to check off in our daily to-do list. So it is a no-brainer that time-saving tools or means to get things done are very attractive and tempting to keep our sanity intact and stress levels at a minimum.
If Not Meditation Then What Else?
For the past few weeks, my mind was foggy most of the time, and getting through the day was a drag. It was as though I had forgotten how to meditate and there was not even a shadow of wisdom in sight. The memory of how light, alert and dynamic the mind was since I began meditating more than 3 years ago was as if it never existed. What a real bummer! Today, I said I have had enough. I do not like feeling this way. There is definitely something not quite right.
