Illusion Not the Opposite of Truth
The usual assumption: we tend to think truth and illusion are two separate things, like light and dark, or two rooms with a wall between them. Illusion is the "wrong" room, while truth is the "right" one. Escape one, arrive at the other.
Not Quite Opposites
We may have heard before that the Truth is the opposite of what we believe, know or understand. Well, not quite. Not by far, in fact. It is not only the opposite but also, out of the world, or box, as one famous saying goes. It is easy to see how this misconception comes about, after we have realized some insights to the Truth.
The Upside-Down Reality
We often find ourselves placing belief in certain assumptions, only to later uncover that reality doesn't conform with our initial convictions. For instance, we may experience frustration over our children's misbehavior, yet through open and honest communication with them, we come to realize that our judgments are rooted in preconceived notions of their behavior.
