Far From Home
Desolate and exhausted
Lost and confused
Haven't I been here before?
Only a moment ago
Soaring from the highest mountain
Now in the depths of the darkest ocean
In the blink of an eye
In the sigh of a breath
In the snap of a finger
Yet, also in eternity
Remaining unchanged
And for ever after
What is going on?
How did I get here?
Where should I go?
Go back, one said
Go forward, another
Go home, a whisper
Faint and distant
Barely a shadow
Yet, stirring and nostalgic
Home? Where is home?
A lingering longing
Seeking for what felt lost
A long, long time ago
But also too quickly
In a flash, did it happen?
The shadow remains
Not where, but what
Can you remember?
Yes, yes I do,
Teary-eyed and swept with relief
What foolishness of forgetting
Nothing was lost
Nothing was found
Only what has always is
I am Home, and Home is me.
In peace,
