With every passing year, the accumulative events of happenings that we experiences day in and day out, have found their place in our minds and hearts. Some are trivial, some important, some forgotten, some etched deeply in our memories; and yet still, more importantly, some became part of our beingness. Over the years, you may have noticed changes that have taken place in our behaviors, characters or moods.
We became better persons, more mellowed, humbled or quieter. Notwithstanding too, more picky, complaining, long-winded, gossipy, or even bitter. Forgetfulness may have sets in too, or, at times memories that are long forgotten took on a central stage in our lives. We have seen far too many possibilities, in ourselves, and in others, and wonder at times with confusion or interest what makes people change for the better or worse.
There is always a reason behind it all, for nothing in the entire universe occurs by chance. It is not a predestined happening, or even a random of luck for things, events or situations taking place. Just that our minds are too limited, or do not have the capacity of wisdom to understand how things come to be. There is a way of developing such capacity and it all begins in the mind of each beholder. Knowing how the nature of things work and thus have the ability to produce the causes for effect to take place is what wisdom is about and it all begins from awareness of our own minds.
The question will be are we ready to embark on the journey of knowing ourselves? It is sure not an easy journey but one can be certain it is indeed a fulfilling path where noble qualities of compassion, kindness and most important of all, understanding into the nature of things as they really are, emerges in us.
As the year come to a close and a new one starting soon, may 2017 be our initiative in getting to know ourselves better. We are always here for you – everyone at Clove&Clive.
