Imagine entering a make-believe space that is devoid of anything but as soon as you enter you find yourself faced with happenings that just pop up. In the midst of that, you also faced with pop-ups of emotions and meanings in your mind towards the happening. Both pop-ups of happening are beyond your charge. They appear as an experience to you. If you are not aware of them, immersion into that experience takes place as if you are in the dream, totally unaware. So real are those experiences that you may forget your sole purpose of just noticing them instead of engaging in it.
It is a training ground of sorts where your only protection to keep you aloof and from falling into both the external happening and the internal happenings of emotions is simply to be aware, persistently. One moment of losing that persistency drops you into the dreams of happenings where horrors or enticement lures you – but both are just dreams that pulls you away from who you are. Would you like entering into such zone?
This is what our lives are about. Do you not notice? Our non-wakefulness and immersion to each happening don’t make us realize that the events that are taking place are just pop-ups, albeit in persistent existency that seemingly gives a sense of sequential order. More than that we also got caught up in the pop-ups of mental emotions instead of noticing them. And because of that we never stood firmly on the ground of awareness to observe them. We got totally carried away into immersion by both the happenings around and within us. We seemingly lose ourselves in them. We forgot that we are not those happenings. We become other than what was before those happenings. We are fallen angels, so to speak. We are, so to speak, dreaming – pursuing what was not supposed to be pursued. We lost our origin. We forgot our primordial task of just fostering awareness on the happenings without immersing in it.
It is about time for us to wake up. Waking up to the pristine reality that what is happening is not to make us feel uncomfortable. Not to threaten us. Not to make us indulge. Not to make us fall into it. Nor to even lose ourselves totally in it. They are purely happenings. Neither despicable or adorable. A happening that is unavoidable in this realm of unpredictability that is impermanent, impersonal and insubstantial. Be guided by awareness and do what is necessary to differentiate who you are and what is taking place. Welcome home!
